Texas Instruments DRV8881: How can I use 1-phase/2-phase excitation to drive the motor?

Motor driver logic

Since the strength of torque differs between 1-phase excitation and 2-phase excitation, it is necessary to adjust the motor control method according to the torque.

  • 1-phase excitation: Torque is weak and not suitable for high-speed rotation
  • 2-phase excitation: Torque is strong and suitable for high-speed rotation, but current consumption is twice that of 1-phase excitation
