This mode turns off the clock and CPU as needed to reduce power consumption. Low Power Mode has multiple low power consumption modes that can be used as needed.
Example: For MSP430x2xx
LPM 0: CPU, main clock stop
LPM 2: CPU, main clock, subsystem clock, digital control oscillator stop
LPM 4: CPU, all clocks stopped
