Silicon Labs Bluetooth®: What is the setting range for the BGM1xx output level (TX Power)?

EFx32

The BGM1xx output level can be set in 0.1dB steps using the following API.

  • cmd_system_set_tx_power (not when advertising)
  • cmd_le_gap_set_advertise_tx_power (when advertising)

The upper limit of the setting value differs depending on the module. The upper limit is +8dBm (setting value = 80) for the +8dBm product, and +3dBm (setting value = 30) for the +3dBm product.
The lower limit of the setpoint is -26dBm (setpoint = -260).

There are no restrictions on the setting values that can be used with software or hardware, so it can be set to +10 dBm (setting value = 100) or even higher. If you make these settings, there is a risk of violating the Radio Law certification that has already been obtained.
If it is a +8dBm product, please pay attention to the setting so that the setting value is 80 or less.
