Silicon Labs Bluetooth®: Disabling MSC on BGM1xx prevented writing to PS. why is that?

EFx32

In BGM1xx, if you write a value to Persistent Store (PS) but it is not rewritten, please check if Memory System Controller (MSC) is enabled. Since PS is on flash memory, disabling MSC prevents writing.

The UG136: Silicon Labs Bluetooth CApplication Developer's Guide resource entry also mentions MSC must not bedisabled as a Flash caveat.
