Silicon Labs EFM32: Is it possible to determine the device part number from the software?
Is possible. Information for product identification is stored in the DI (Device Information) page of the memory map.
The figure below is an excerpt from the EFM32GG reference manual 5.6 Device Information (DI) Page, but the family name is registered in PART_FAMILY, the pinout type in PART_NUMBER, and the flash memory size in MEM_INFO_FLASH.
For example, in the case of EFM32GG230F128, the information is shown in red below.
