Silicon Labs EFM8/C8051: EFM8 bootloader does not work. What's causing this?
Older revisions have errata and the bootloader does not work properly, so first check the errata and check the revision of the IC you are using.
Also, please refer to AN945 and our document: How to use the sample code (AN945: EFM8 Factory Bootloader) to confirm the procedure.
If you are using Simplicity Studio v.4 to write the bootloader, there is a problem with FlashProgrammer writing the bootloader, so please try using SimplicityStudio v.3. This will be fixed in the future. (as of January 26, 2017)
