CP21xx

The CP2114 is a USB audio ⇔ I2S conversion IC. It is assumed that you will connect a DAC/CODEC to I2S and use it with USB audio equipment (USB speakers, USB headphones/headsets, POS terminals, VoIP phones, etc.).
The basic specs are as follows.

  • USB audio ⇔ I2S conversion function
    • USB HID ⇔ I2C conversion (for DAC/CODEC control)
    • Volume/Mute control
  • Supports a wide range of DAC/CODEC
  • Supports USB Audio Class v.1.0
    • PCM output
    • Supports 48kHz, 16-bit stereo digital audio
  • USB: Device function (full speed), USB HID class
  • USB⇔UART conversion function
  • GPIO extensions: 12. UART is also feasible
  • Operating Voltage: 3.0-3.6V (Self-powered), 4.0-5.25V (Bus-powered)
  • I/O voltage: 1.8V to VDD
  • Package: QFN32 (5x5mm)

The USB driver uses the USBHID class driver that comes standard with Windows, so there is no need to install a driver.
The CP2114 ROM can store DAC/CODEC configuration data and automatically configure the DAC/CODEC at startup.
