The CP2112 is a USB ⇔ SMBus conversion IC. The basic specs are as follows.

• USB: Device function (full speed), USB HID class
• SMBus: Master function (~400kbps)
• GPIO extension: 8
• Operating Voltage: 3.0-3.6V (Self-powered), 4.0-5.25V (Bus-powered)
• Package: QFN24 (4x4mm)

The USB driver uses the USBHID class driver that comes standard with Windows, so there is no need to install a driver. We also provide an API library for application design on Windows and Mac OSX.
