Silicon Labs Bluetooth: What is the minimum circuit configuration using the BGM111? (What are the minimum required pins?)
Operating the BGM111 in standalone mode eliminates the need for a UART for communication with the host system, requiring minimal configuration. All you need is the power and ground needed to power the module, as well as the SW and reset pins needed for programming.
When used in NCPmode, a UART must be used for communication with the host system.
| pin name | function |
| VCC | +3.3V power supply (*2) |
| GND | ground |
| PF0 | programming pin (SWCLK) |
| PF1 | Programming pin (SWDIO) |
| RESET | module reset |
| PA0 | UART TX (*1) |
| PA1 | UART RX (*1) |
| PA2 | UART RTS (*1) |
| PA3 | UART CTS (*1) |
*1: Option when using in NCP mode. Enabled when shipped. (See: What are the factory settings for BGM111?)
*2: Please refer to the datasheet for rated values.
