Silicon Labs Bluetooth: I get a "Device not responding" error in BGTool. Please tell me what to do

BGTool communicates with the Bluetooth® module through a serial port. This error occurs when the communication is not done properly.

The points to check are as follows.

  • Is the hardware set up correctly (is it getting power? is the Bluetooth module fully inserted into the motherboard)?
  • Is the baud rate set correctly?
  • Is the firmware in the module enabled for UART (is UART enabled? BGAPI protocol enabled?)

 
As a point of caution, the firmware written at the time of shipment from the manufacturer does not support communication with BGTool. When evaluating in combination with BGTool, please download the sample code in \\example\bt121 for BT121 and \\examples\wstk_bgapi for BGM111.
