Silicon Labs EFM32: What is the difference between "MCU", "Debug Out" and "Debug In" in Debug Mode (Simplicity Studio/Kit Manager)?
The Debug Mode, which can be set in Simplicity Studio's Kit Manager, has options of “MCU”, “Debug Out”, and “Debug In”. By setting this option, it is possible to access an external MCU using the starter kit or access the MCU on the starter kit from an external emulator.
"MCU" is the mode used when debugging the MCU (EFM32 32-bit microcomputer, etc.) on the starter kit from the emulator (J-LINK) on the starter kit. Use this setting when proceeding with evaluation and design on the starter kit.

“Debug Out” is a mode used when debugging an external MCU from the emulator (J-LINK) on the starter kit. Use this setting when making a user board and proceeding with evaluation and design.

“Debug In” is the mode used when debugging the MCU on the starter kit from an external emulator.
