Silicon Labs EFM32: Do I need external AC coupling when using a sine wave with an external oscillator?
EFx32
If the input from the external oscillator is a sine wave, the HFXOMODE (LFXOMODE) in the CMU_CTRL register should be set to BUFEXTCLK. This enables the AC coupling built into the EFM32. Therefore, external AC coupling is basically unnecessary.
