The steps to program the EFM8/C8051 with the USB Debug Adapter in Simplicity Studio are as follows.

1. Connect USB Debug Adapter to PC with USB cable
2. Connect the C2 cable of the USB Debug Adapter to the write target
3. Start Simplicity Studio on the PC with the USB Debug Adapter connected
4. Power ON the device to be written
5. Check that the target MCU is correctly recognized in "Detected Hardware" on the left side of Simplicity Studio

6. Start "Flash Programmer" at the top of Simplicity Studio

7. Select the object file (Hex) from the "Browse..." button
8. If necessary, erase all target devices with the "Erase" button
9. Start writing with the "Program" button
