Silicon Labs CP210x: When I connect the CP210x to my Linux machine, is there a way to know which port was assigned?

CP21xx

When the CP210x is connected to the Linux PC, it is registered as shown below.

  • /dev/ttyUSB (where numbers are 0,1,2, etc.)

There is no registry like in Windows, and it is not associated with VID/PID/serial numbers, so if there are multiple registrations, it is possible to determine whether /dev/ttyUSB0 is CP210x or /dev/ttyUSB1 is CP210x. can not.

Although it is not a very smart method, it is possible to access all ports one by one and determine whether the device is CP210x or not based on the response from the device side.
