Silicon Labs CP210x: Is there power sequencing for REGIN/VDD and VIO?
The CP2103, CP2104, CP2105, and CP2108 have separate pins for the IC operating power supply (VDD) and I/O power supply (VIO). The datasheet limits the supply voltage to VIO to VDD.
Therefore, when supplying power to these, it is recommended to supply power to VDD and VIO at the same time, or to power VDD first. However, even if VIO is powered first, the IC will not be damaged.
