When creating a project, you can specify the creation location. Uncheck Usedefault location and enter the path to the folder you want to create.

It is also possible to change the initial path (default location). Setting (gear icon) → General → Startup and Shutdown → workspace → Check Prompt for workspace on startup → Apply.

After restarting Simplicity Studio, a window for changing the workspace path will appear. If you specify a new path here and press OK, the default location will be changed. If you check Use this as the default and do not ask again, the specified path will be remembered as the default.
