Silicon Labs CP210x: My USB Host has no VBUS signal, can I leave the VBUS pin unconnected?
CP21xx
If the VBUS signal is not supplied from the USB Host, fix the VBUS pin to High.
The VBUS pin is a pin for detecting that it is connected to the USB Host, and CP21xx starts operating by setting this pin to High. Therefore, the CP210x will not work if left unconnected or pulled low.
