Silicon Labs EFM32: Understanding LEUART Transmit Jitter

EFx32

LEUART uses a low-speed clock (32.768kHz) to achieve communication at a maximum baud rate of 9600bps. Depending on the baud rate you choose, it may be difficult to generate using 32.768kHz, so there may be jitter when viewed over a 1-bit period.

This jitter does not accumulate, nor does it exceed half a clock, so it is not considered to affect communication. Please also refer to the LEUART item (Jitter in Transmitted Data) in the reference manual. Note that the average baud rate is within very good accuracy.
