The structure of SiC MOSFETs is familiar to most power supply and inverter designers as well as device manufacturers. SiC JFETs are a completely different process, and creating cascode products requires more engineering work, including specialized LV Si MOSFETs and advanced packaging. Qorvo is one of the few manufacturers that has the packaging, Si and SiC expertise necessary to achieve this, all in one team.

Finally, while SiC MOSFETs are easy to control using gate resistors, SiC cascodes have limited control range and require the approach recommended by Qorvo for application-tailored devices. These devices offer best-in-class performance.
