Microchip FPGA: Regarding processing of unused pins in pin-compatible products by device scale in SmartFusion2/IGLOO2. For example, PKG of FG484 understood that UserI/O is upper compatible with devices from M2GL005 to M2GL090. Assuming that 209pins of UserI/O were initially set with M2GL005 as the target, how should I handle the increased "24pins" of UserI/O when changing to M2GL010?

"Open processing" is required.
Basically, the difference in the number of I/Os for Device Migration is "NC", so Open processing is required.
Note that it is "Device Migration" instead of "Pin Compatibility".
In pin compatibility, all pins, including power supply and ground pins, are generally the same, but Device Migration is different, so sufficient consideration and comparison is required.

For pinout details, please use the Excel-based table from the link of each package in the URL "Pinout / Packaging" below to compare and study.

Also, if a change in scale is expected in advance, we recommend setting Reserve Pins for Device Migration in Libero SoC.
”Design Flow” tab => ”Manage Constraints” => Check ”Reserve Pins for Device Migration” and select the target device size from ”Target Devices:”.
This selection imposes restrictions on the differential pins, allowing different size devices to be treated as pin compatible.
