I am trying to write data to the Breakout board in the MachXO3LF Starter Kit and Diamond freezes during writing and then the programmer doesn't recognize the device. What should I do?
Category : Configuration/Programming
Tool : Diamond
Device : MachXO3D, MachXO3
The 12MHz operating clock (crystal oscillator) for the FTDI device that terminates the USB interface is connected to the C8 pin of the XO3LF. Therefore, once a user design that uses the C8 pin as an output is programmed into the XO3LF Starter Kit, the programmer may not work properly due to the influence on this operating clock for FTDI.
As a workaround, either design without using the C8 pin, or remove jumper resistor R23 if the C8 pin is unavoidable.
