■ Arria II GX/GT

To use the nCEO pin as a user I/O pin, you must compile with the following settings in Quartus II.

Assignments menu ⇒ Device ⇒ Device and Pin Options... ⇒ Dual-Purpose Pins ⇒ select Use as regular I/O in nCEO

By default, it is a pin for configuration.

■ Arria II GZ

The nCEO pin is a dedicated configuration pin and cannot be used as a user I/O pin for Quartus II settings.


Note that this pin is used as a configuration pin in multi-device configuration when connecting to the nCEO pin of the previous device and the nCE pin of the following device with a 10 KΩ pullup on VCCIO. .

(caution)
In the pin connection guidelines, Arria II GZ is also described as a dual-purpose pin (Dual-Purpose pin) with a general-purpose I/O pin like Arria II GX/GT, but this is incorrect.
Please note that there are currently no plans to revise the pin connection guidelines.
