By using the ALTREMOTE_UPDATE core, it is possible to select from multiple configuration data in the configuration ROM to trigger configuration.

[Concrete example]
Assume that the EPCS stores two pieces of configuration data starting at 0x00000 (factory) and 0x80000 (user).
The FPGA starts configuration from EPCS address 0x00000 when power is turned on (always starts at address 0x0000 when power is turned on).
Using the ALTREMOTE_UPDATE core, it is possible to trigger the FPGA itself to reconfigure with user data at address 0x80000 in the EPCS after booting with factory data.
