What does "cpu_resetrequest" in the Nios II core do?
The Nios II processor core supports two reset signals.
Each signal is described below.
| Signal name | explanation |
| reset_n | A global hardware reset signal that forces the processor core to reset immediately |
| cpu_resetrequest | A local reset signal that resets the processor without affecting other components of the Nios II system. The processor finishes executing all instructions in the pipeline and enters the reset state. The processor remains in reset while cpu_resetrequest is asserted. The processor periodically reads from the reset address while in reset. The processor discards the read results and remains in reset. |
