On the Quartus II device selection screen, some devices are labeled as Advanced or Initial. What does that mean?
Devices marked Advanced indicate devices that will be supported in a near future version.
It can compile, simulate, perform timing analysis, and generate device pin-out information, but no programming files.
Devices marked Initial indicate devices that will be supported in future versions.
Compile, simulate, and perform timing analysis, but no device pin-out information or programming files are generated.
Devices with advanced support and initial support for each version are listed in the device support release notes.
