I want to write HDL using my usual editor instead of the Quartus II editor. Is it possible to automatically launch the editor from Quartus II?
It is possible to change the editor used by Quartus II.
The setting method is shown below.
Select Tools menu ⇒ Options ⇒ General ⇒ Preferred Text Editor
Check alternate text editor
Register executable in Text editor location:
After this setting, when you open the design file again, the registered editor will start up.
However, please be aware of the convenient functions of the Quartus II editor and the fact that you must specify a directory when saving files.
