Is there a limit to the frequencies that can be made with the PLL?
Is there a limit to the frequencies that can be made with the PLL?
The output frequency that can be generated differs for each device.
In addition, the frequency that can be generated varies depending on various factors such as the input clock frequency and device internal/external output.
For details, search for the keyword "PLL Specification" in the Device Handbook of each device and check the specifications.
As a simple way to determine whether a clock with the required specifications can be generated, you can check the message when generating a PLL design with the MegaWizard Plug-In Manager.
After entering various parameters, if it cannot be generated, a red message "Cannot implement the requested PLL" will be displayed on the GUI.
Be sure to check the compilation report to see if the actually set PLL satisfies the required specifications.
