If I set unused user I/O pins to “inputs tri-stated” or “inputs tri-stated with weak pull up” in Quartus II, do I have to connect the pins on the PCB?
The PCB handling for unused user I/O pin settings in Quartus II is shown below.
set to "inputs tri-stated"
⇒ Must be connected to VCCIO or GND for noise suppression on the PCB.
Set to "inputs tri-stated with weak pull up"
⇒ There is no need to connect pins on the board.
An internal pullup to VCCIO biases the pin and prevents it from floating.
