There are operating modes of
 
Word Alignment Base does byte ordering based on the rising edge of rx_syncstatus from WordAligner.
User control is user controlled by a signal called rx_enabyteord for byte ordering.
 
The byte ordering block begins looking for a byte ordering pattern within the byte deserialized data each time it receives a rising edge on the rx_syncstatus signal.

If the byte ordering block finds the first data byte that matches the programmed byte ordering pattern in the most significant byte position of the byte deserialized data after the rising edge of the rx_syncstatus signal, Insert one programmed PAD pattern and push the byte ordering pattern to the least significant byte position.

If the Byte Ordering Block finds the first data byte in the least significant byte position of the byte deserialized data that matches the programmed byte ordering pattern, it considers the data to be byte ordered. Assumed, does not insert a PAD pattern.
 
In both cases, the byte ordering block asserts the rx_byteorderalignstatus signal.
