The version numbering has changed since 2019, and 2019.1 will be the version of the next major update after 10.7.
The a,..,f, etc. behind 10.7 are minor update numbers, and several have been released after the 2019.1 release.

After 2019.1, there will be tool updates once every quarter, with releases up to 2019.1, 2019.2, 2019.3, 2019.4, and then 2020.1.
