For ModelSim®, you can save Signal Tap waveforms to VCD files and use them to run simulations.

【procedure】
1. Configure Signal Tap and acquire waveforms
・Select File menu > Export on the Signal Tap screen
Change the Export format to vcd, set the Clock period to 1ns, etc., and click OK to generate the vcd file.
(In Quartus v17.0, setting it to 1ps resulted in an Internal Error, so please set it to 1ns.)
2. Add -vcdstim .vcd when simulating in ModelSim and run the simulation
・When executing from GUI: Add to Others tab > Other Vsim Options in Start Simulation
・When executing by command: Add to vsim command

It is possible to reflect the input waveform saved in the VCD in the simulation by the above method.
In this case, ModelSim automatically determines the target waveform from the VCD by matching the port name, so it is necessary to match the port name.
