Intel: Using Arria® V Transceiver Native PHY and Transceiver PHY Reset Controller in a multi-channel configuration. If you connect all channels with external loopback cables, you can communicate without problems, but if you use it by connecting only one channel, rx_digitalreset will remain High and you will not be able to communicate normally. rx_is_lockedtodata is toggling high/low repeatedly. is there a problem?

Category: Transceiver
Tools: Quartus® Prime
Device: Arria® V

This phenomenon is caused by the usage of Reset Controller.

Check Use separate RX reset per channel in the RX Channel settings of the Transceiver PHY Reset Controller.
In this case (On), each RX channel has a separate reset.
This means that even if multiple channels are configured, the reset is released individually when the CDR of each RX channel is locked.

If the checkbox is not checked (Off), other channels will be held reset until all RX channels are locked.
This means that digital reset remains asserted until all channels have Lock.
