Intel: Is there a way to prevent access to undefined addresses on Platform Designer?
Category: Quartus® Prime (Platform Designer)
Tools: Quartus® Prime

In Platform Designer (formerly Qsys), you can use a function called Default slave to prevent bus lockups when accessing undefined addresses.
Set only one Default Slave for each Interconnect.
Default Slave can be set automatically or manually.
(Simultaneous use is not possible.)
<How to set automatically>
Set by setting Automate default slave insertion to TRUE in Platform Designer under Interconnect Requirements.
<How to set manually>
After right-clicking the bar in System Contents of Platform Designer and displaying Show Default slave Column, you can set it by selecting the component you want to set as Default Slave from Column.
(Set only one component.)
