Intel: Can I/O Standard LVDS support 1ch bidirectional?

Since it is bi-directional LVDS, you should use Bus LVDS (BLVDS) as your FPGA.

Specifically, make the altera_gpio bidirectional and set the I/O Standard to Differential 1.8-V SSTL Class I or Class II.
Now you can use it without using 2Line.
