Is the Streamline Performance Analyzer feature of the ARM® DS-5™ Intel® SoC FPGA Edition available only when the OS running on the target is Linux or Android? Can I use Streamline if I have a bare metal application or another OS?
Category: SoCs
Tool: SoC EDS
device:-
Streamline requires the Gator driver and daemon.
Gator is available on Linux kernel versions 2.6.32 and later.
Streamline can therefore be used on Linux or Android.
Streamline cannot be used with bare metal applications as they do not include programs to make TCP/IP connections and debugging itself is done via JTAG.
If you are using another commercial OS (such as VxWorks), the OS vendor usually provides a dedicated software development and debugging environment (including performance investigation tools).
