Quartus Prime

Category: Quartus® Prime
Tools: Quartus® Prime
device:-

When using Quartus® Prime (version 16.1 or later) with a floating license, the process of connecting to the license server port may take a long time due to network conditions, resulting in a timeout error and a failure to acquire the license. .
This phenomenon may occur under the environment of FLEXlm version 11.13.
In this case, use the system variable FLEXLM_TIMEOUT to set the timeout to 1 second.
The unit is microseconds.

FLEXLM_TIMEOUT=100000000

You can adjust this setting for your system.
The default value for FLEXLM_TIMEOUT is 100,000 microseconds and the range is 0 to 2147483647.
Also, FLEXLM_TIMEOUT is a Windows®-only system variable name.
No setting is required in normal network environments where latency (delay) does not occur.

[Procedure for newly setting FLEXLM_TIMEOUT]

  1. Double-click System from the Control Panel.
  2. Select Advanced System Settings on the left side of the screen to display the Advanced Settings tab on the System Properties dialog Box.
  3. Click the Environment Variables button.
  4. Click the New button in the System Variables section at the bottom of the Environment Variables dialog Box.
