ModelSim-Altera fails to run the simulation with the following error:

Illegal Grid delta. Grid delta must be greater than 1.

In ModelSim-Altera Edition (including ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition), this error occurs when the grid lines displayed in the Wave window are set incorrectly.
Please change the following settings.
- In the main ModelSim-Altera window, select Tools menu ⇒ Edit Preferences..
- In the Preferences dialog, select the By Name tab.
- Check the value of Wave ⇒ gridDelta and change it to an appropriate positive number. (The default value is 40.)
