There are two ways to monitor the internal temperature of Arria V GZ devices: Internal Temperature Sensing Diode and External Temperature Sensing Diode.
The Internal Temperature Sensing Diode is the only way to monitor the internal temperature of Arria V GX/GT/SX/ST devices.

■ Internal Temperature Sensing Diode

A method of monitoring the temperature of the die inside the device using a temperature sensor diode and a temperature sensor built into the device.
By incorporating IP Catalog's Altera Temperature Sensor into your design, you can monitor the die temperature inside your device.

■ External Temperature Sensing Diode

The device's internal temperature sensor diode, in combination with an external temperature sensor, allows the die temperature to be monitored inside the device.
Connect the TEMPDIODEP and TEMPDIODEN pins of the device to an external temperature sensor.
