If you want to take advantage of the Internal Temperature Sensing Diode, use the Altera Temperature Sensor.
In this case, the tsdcalo signal is updated at device power-up or when the tsdcaldone signal is asserted 10 adcclk clock cycles after asserting the clr signal.
