Analog Devices LDO: Is there an upper limit to the voltage I can put into the Vcontrol pin when generating 1.5V to 1.2V using the LT3083?

power management

The Vcontrol pin has an absolute maximum rating of ±28V. Vcontrol is the power supply pin for the device's control circuitry and must be at least 1.2V to 1.4V higher than the output voltage for the device to regulate.

For detailed characteristics, see “VCONTROL Dropout Voltage” on page 4 of the datasheet. The Vcontrol voltage also affects the power consumption of the drive circuit. Please check the calculation method of the power of the drive circuit in "Thermal considerations" on page 16 of the data sheet, and design so that the junction temperature is satisfied as the heat generation of the entire device.
