Analog Devices Switching Regulator: Can I use the LTC7803 with the sense resistor shorted and the current limit disabled?
Unfortunately, you can't use it that way.
The LTC7803 is a current controlled switching regulator. Current control switching regulators require current detection using a detection resistor or the DC resistance of the coil to control the coil current. A sense resistor is required for the LTC7803.
