Analog Devices linear regulators: LT3015 and LT3080 have current limit functions of 2.0A and 1.4A, respectively. Even if it operates with this current value, is it correct to say that there is no problem in use as long as the heat generation and temperature of the IC are allowed?

power management

No, the current limit works as a protection function, but the current capacity that can guarantee the characteristics of the IC is up to the nominal value.
Use the LT3015 at 1.5A or less, and the LT3080 at 1.1A or less.
