Analog Devices Switching Regulators: The LT8610AB High Side and Low Side FETs each have overcurrent limits, but what happens when the output is shorted?

power management

When short-circuited, the following operations ① to ③ are repeated.

(1) Current flows up to the current limit of 6.7A (TYP) for the High Side FET.
(2) High side FET is turned off by limit detection, and regenerative current flows through the low side FET path.
③The current value gradually decreases, and when the current value drops to the current limit value of Low Side FET 4.3A (TYP),
The Low Side FET is turned off and the High Side FET is turned on.
