Macnica (1-6-3 Shin-Yokohama, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture President: Kiyoshi Nakashima, hereinafter Macnica) has developed a new IoT sensor terminal (hereinafter Mpression One IoT terminal) as an Mpression IoT solution. We will develop a verification environment for each application with our partners and exhibit it for the first time at the 2017 Japan IT Week IoT/M2M exhibition. Macnica has been supporting the introduction of IoT environments for our customers, but at that time, we have received requests from customers who want to reduce initial costs, shorten the introduction period until operation as much as possible, choose a platform that follows the latest technology, and their own actual implementation. We received many requests to test it in an environment. In response to these requests, and to make it easier for customers to conduct implementation tests, we have jointly developed an application-specific IoT verification environment platform along with the Mpression One IoT terminal together with our partners. In the future, we will combine Macnica 's services such as predictive maintenance using IoT, remote monitoring consultation, and contract manufacturing of custom terminals when introducing terminals into operational environments, and provide them as a package together with Mpressoin One IoT terminals. We are planning.
About Mpression One IoT terminal
The Mpression One IoT terminal was developed with the concept of freeing customers from the constraints of terminal development costs and development time. Developing a terminal from scratch increases development costs and lengthens development time. In addition, new technologies in IoT are advancing remarkably, and longer development times make it difficult to incorporate new technologies. In order to solve these issues, Macnica has modularized the sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless devices of IoT sensor terminals and prepared multiple modules to enable customers to select products that suit their development. In addition, we also offer dustproof and waterproof housing options to withstand verification in real environments. The Mpression One IoT terminal comes with sensors (15 types), microcontrollers (3 types), and wireless devices (7 types), and each module is connected to a base board (3 types). These boards are scheduled to be expanded in the future.
Application-specific IoT verification environment platform using Mpression One IoT terminal
Recently, Macnica has developed five platforms using Mpression One IoT for different applications. The functions of each are as follows.
1) Motion detection: Equipped with a motion sensor to easily realize IoT for wearables with BLE
2) Color detection: Real-time measurement of atmospheric pressure and color of ambient light, visualization through AWS
3) VOC/Co2 measurement: VOC and CO2 in offices and greenhouses can be visualized by mesh connection
4) Water level measurement: Real-time detection of capacitance changes due to water level changes for river monitoring and liquid leak detection
5) Vibration measurement: Vibration, shock, and humidity of equipment can be transmitted over long distances with low power consumption in the sub-gigabyte (920Mhz band).
