Winbond obtains ISO/SAE 21434 certification for W77Q Secure Flash, achieving world's first milestone as a memory IC vendor

The company announced that its TrustME(R) W77Q secure flash family has received ISO/SAE 21434 certification, the international standard for vehicle cybersecurity technology.

This certification is important for the entire automotive industry, including vehicle OEM manufacturers.

Winbond is the first flash vendor in the world to receive this standard certification.

W77Q obtained ISO/SAE 21434 certification

The ISO/SAE 21434 certification entitled "Road vehicles - cybersecurity engineering"

It is an industry standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International.

It focuses on protecting road users by specifying requirements to ensure the robustness of vehicle systems against cyber-attacks.

This certification applies to vehicles and their manufacturers, as well as components with cybersecurity considerations, and is increasingly including IC components.

In addition, in order to obtain EU type approval and vehicle certification through GSR (General Safety Regulation), it is necessary to comply with UNECE R155.
