AIS Focus has been specifically designed to assist bus and truck manufacturers in complying with the EU General Safety Regulation (GSR), streamlining the integration of mandated Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems.
Gothenburg, Sweden, August 21, 2024: Smart Eye, a leading provider of Driver Monitoring System (DMS) technology, has announced the launch of AIS Focus, a new driver assistance system tailored for bus and truck manufacturers. The system is designed to help manufacturers meet the stringent requirements of the EU General Safety Regulation (GSR), specifically for the newly mandated Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems.
Starting July 7, 2024, the GSR requires all new type-approved vehicles in the EU to be equipped with advanced driver distraction detection. This obligation will apply to all new cars from July 7, 2026. By streamlining the implementation process, AIS Focus ensures that manufacturers can smoothly comply with the regulation without burdening them with excessive costs and long development times.
"AIS Focus is an ideal solution for bus and truck manufacturers facing new ADDW mandates," said Magnus Brunzell, VP of Applied AI Systems (AIS) at Smart Eye. "The system is designed not only to meet compliance needs but also to increase safety on the roads by proactively addressing driver distractions. AIS Focus offers accuracy, reliability and ease of integration, making it a valuable tool for manufacturers looking to stay ahead in safety technology."
To further support manufacturers in achieving GSR certification, Smart Eye also provides a comprehensive dossier with AIS Focus, specifically tailored to GSR certification requirements, which includes detailed product specifications and guidance to expedite the certification process.
AIS Focus will be presented to the public at the Elmia Lastbil 2024 event taking place in Jönköping, Sweden from August 21-24. Attendees will be able to experience first-hand how AIS Focus seamlessly integrates into vehicles and supports compliance with the latest EU regulations.
