Product Summary
The Si88x2x/x4x series is an isolator with a built-in isolated DCDC converter circuit using an external transformer. The Si88x2x has a 2ch isolator, while the Si88x4x has a 4ch isolator. The power supply section has an oscillator, secondary voltage feedback input, and drive FET built in, so power can be supplied with a minimum of external components. By using an external transformer, it is possible to supply power with a high capacity of 2W to 5W to the secondary side. The efficiency is up to about 83%. In addition to the standard type that provides the same range of output for an input of 3 to 5V, there is also a type that can handle high voltages up to 30V input/output by using an external transistor. It can be used in a wide range of applications, such as gate driver power supplies.

Isolated Power Supply
5V input/output FET built-in DCDC converter
It can transmit about 2W of power.
5V input, 24V output isolated DC/DC converter
By adding one external transistor, a high-voltage isolated power supply can be constructed.
24V input 5V output isolated DC/DC converter
High voltage can be input using an external transistor on the input side, and approximately 5W of power can be supplied to the secondary side.
Application example (isolated power supply for gate drivers)
Insulated gate driver, isolated power supply IC and transformer. Examples of use in actual equipment with minimum components.
This is an example of an evaluation board that supplies power to the isolated gate driver Si823Hx in a half-bridge circuit. One Si882421BD supplies the secondary power for the upper and lower gate drivers and the 5V power for the primary side.
Each can be driven with positive/negative voltage. In this example, the device temperature is converted to an input frequency signal by the NTC and sent to the primary side.
You can try it out using the circuit that is used as an evaluation board.
