SiT5376/SiT5377 announced (Elite RF™)

SiTime, a leading company in the MEMS oscillator market, has announced a new high-precision timing platform “Elite RF™”.

SiTime's “Elite RF family” of so-called TCXOs (Temperature Controlled MEMS Oscillators) represents a whole new class of MEMS-based TCXOs.

Target application

Target applications include small cell infrastructure radios, remote radio units (RRUs),

Microwave backhaul, satellite communication equipment, etc. are suitable applications for the SiT5376/SiT5377.

Can replace OCXO

Until now, OCXOs (Oven Controlled Oscillators) have often been adopted as the primary clock for 5G and satellite radio-related applications.

OCXOs have the temperature stability required for highly synchronous radio clocks.

However, they are unreliable in harsh environments and consume excessive power and space.

In many cases, an external jitter cleaner or VCXO is required to generate an RF compatible clock.

 

The SiT5376/SiT5377 can also be digitally controlled, making it possible to solve such problems with a single chip.

It also meets the stringent performance requirements specified by the IEEE 1588v2 timing synchronization protocol.

• Supports any frequency output from 1 to 220 MHz
• High stability of ±100 ppb over temperature
• High stability of ±0.9 ppb/°C against temperature gradient (df/dT)
• ±400 ppm digital control with ±0.05 ppt resolution
• 100 fs integrated phase jitter (19.2 MHz, 12 kHz to 20 MHz)
• Aging is 0.3 ppb/day
• 144 mW power consumption at 1.8V
• 5.0 mm x 3.5 mm ceramic package
