Features

Below are the main features of Renesas connectivity products.

・BLE（Bluetooth Low Energy）

BLE is an extended specification of Bluetooth, and is a communication method that can communicate for long periods of time at low speeds and over short distances with low power consumption. Renesas provides BLE modules equipped with antennas and oscillators that are certified under the Radio Law and Bluetooth.

 ・WiFi

Renesas products use VirtualZero technology that enables low power consumption. We provide certified modules and combo modules with BLE.

 ・DECT

This is a communication method for digital cordless phones. It is expected to be used for voice communication at low cost. Renesas also provides certified modules for this method.

 ・NFC（Near Field Communication）

This technology uses a frequency of 13.56 MHz and enables short-distance wireless communication of up to several tens of centimeters by "waving" the device over something. It is used in card readers and wireless power transfer. Renesas offers various NFC readers and products that support power transfer.

・Sub-GHz

Renesas offers wireless communication devices in the Sub-GHz (860/920 MHz) band, which have features such as long-distance communication, the ability to bypass radio interference, and minimal radio interference with other devices.

・PLC（Power Line Comunication）

PLC is a communication method that uses power lines as a communication medium. Because it uses existing power lines, no new wiring work is required, and unlike wireless communication, it is not affected by obstacles. Renesas provides modem ICs for PLC communication.
