Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ Series

The Qualcomm DragonwingIQ series is Qualcomm's industrial-grade processor family that delivers the advanced computing, on-device AI, safety, and environmental durability required for next-generation Industrial IoT (IIoT).

The three series available are the flagship model IQ9, the balanced performance IQ8, and the power-saving IQ6. They provide the processing power and reliability required in harsh environments, with AI performance of up to 100 TOPS, a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and a high ball pitch design that is resistant to vibration and shock.


In addition to industrial-grade safety design, such as SIL-3-compliant safety functions, ECC memory, and redundant configuration, the device comes standard with a wide range of interfaces, including Wi-Fi, PCIe, Ethernet, and USB. It also has image processing capabilities that can process up to 16 camera inputs simultaneously, making it suitable for a wide range of applications that utilize vision AI, such as automated robots on manufacturing lines, edge AI gateways for infrastructure monitoring, and inspection drones.

The OS supports Linux(Yocto Project)and Ubuntu, allowing developers to quickly build applications using their existing software assets. In addition, collaboration with Qualcomm AI Hub can streamline the development of edge AI devices using verified AI models.

AI performance:Achieves 100 TOPS of AI processing power, the highest level in the industry. For example,in the case of the large-scale language model "Llama2" (13 billion parameters), it processes at a speed of 12 tokens /second, and executes generative AI applications with low power consumption.


Safety

With a dedicated Safety Island (SAIL) and Error Correction Code (ECC) built in, the device maintains high reliability and safety even in extreme environments from -40°C to +115°C.

:
Efficient design reduces power consumption even in applications that require high processing power, enabling long periods of continuous operation.


Image processing
:
It can process images from up to six cameras simultaneously, and is equipped with high-speed decoding at 4K quality and encoding functions for 1080p images. It is ideal for industrial image analysis systems.
